Gallery 64
Project type
Commercial Landscape, Greenroof
Date
2019-2022
Location
Washington, DC
In southwest Washington, D.C. this historic school was revitalized by the Rubell family as a museum surrounded by apartments and a public-private courtyard.
The entrance to the garden pays a subtle tribute to Marvin Gaye, who was student at this school. The notes from “What’s Going On” are woven into the structure of the fence and gate and reflect the proportions of the architecture of Gallery 64.
Michael was part of the design team at OvS that completed this work between 2019 and 2022.
